2010 TATA INDIGO E CS SERIES SPECIFICATION, REVIEW, FEATURES

Tata motors is one of the leading motor vehicle manufacturer in India. Tata Indigo has played a key role in attaining this top position in Indian automobile industry. Tata's Indigo had won the appreciation from customers all over the country.

Looks like the Indigo series never ends. First car in the series was Tata Indigo, then came the Indigo CS series. The Indigo CS was better than its predecessor. The main advantage of Indigo CS was that the length was less than 4 meters so that it became the only seden that gained tax reduction for cars whose length is less than 4 meter.

The new member of the Indigo series is the Tata Indigo E CS which satisfies the Bharat 4 emission standards. The new Indigo CS E is an eco-friendly car with low price. The fuel economy of new Tata Indigo E CS is relatively higher than that of its predecessors. Here is more details about new Tata Indigo E CS.

Design

The CS is the abbreviation for 'Compact Sedan'. e stands for Eco-friendly may be. When the length of Indigo is reduced by reducing dickey space and without reducing interior space, it became Indigo CS E. Compared to other sedans in India, Indigo CS has a fair amount of interior space. Unlike the previous models, the new Indigo CS E has no similarity in appearance with Tata Indica. The grill of old Indigo was replaced with more modern and sophisticated brushed grill with aluminium finish. Body color bumper, the body color rub-rail with chromium lining and the wing mirrors with indicators makes new Tata Indigo E CS a cute car. The new Indigo CS E with off-white color has affluence which surpasses its price. In first look Indigo CS E can be termed as a well designed car.

The interior of Tata Indigo E CS has certain flaws. Tata hasn't made much changes to the dashboard and door trims from that in old Indigo. Only difference made is an elegant color change to the interiors.

The Indigo E CS has well finished fabric seats. They provide enough comfort and support to the customers. The door trim also has fabric inserts. The four power windows can be controlled using the controls in the central console. However, there are seperate controls for the passengers at the back seat.

Driving

New Indigo E CS is an evidence for Tata's skill in Engine refinement and power. The 1396cc engine which powers Indigo E CS provides it with a maximum power of 69Bhp @ 4000rpm and a maximum torque of 140Nm @ 1800-3000rpm. This engine which is almost silent provides a smooth driving experience and reasonable pickup. The turbo is switched on above 1000rpm. At 2500rpm, engine attains its maximum capacity. The clutch and gear transmission are also very smooth. The mileage of Indigo E CS is 23.03km/L

The major flaw of Tata Indigo E CS is its breaking. With a powerful 1396cc engine in it, the lack of ABS is surely a defect.

Price

Price of Diesel model of Indigo E CS is Rs. 4.92-5.15 lakhs and that of Petrol model is Rs. 4.09-4.31 lakhs.

BAJAJ DISCOVER 150 - REVIEW, SPECIFICATIONS, FEATURES

Bajaj Discover and Pulsar are the two bikes which helped Bajaj motors to attain a praisable position among Indian two wheeler manufacturers. When Pulsar series made Bajaj motors a famous bike manufacturer from scooter manufacturer, Discover played a key role in making Bajaj motors the 2nd most selling two-wheeler manufacturer whose 3 lakh bikes are sold per month.

New Bajaj Discover is the 5th generation Discover. Bajaj began with Discover 125cc, then came Discover 110cc, then Discover 135cc and the last was Discover 100cc. Bajaj Discover 100cc had a fabulous selling history of 5 lakh bikes in just 225 days.

While the previous models of Discover concentrated on mileage, the new Bajaj Discover 150 is a combination of both power and mileage. Thus new Discover 150 is a perfect combination of 150cc engine's power, Discover 125's mileage and the low price of Discover 100cc. Therefore, new Bajaj Discover 150 will definitely be a threat to 150cc bikes as well as 110cc and 135cc bikes.

Design & Styling

The design of Bajaj Discover 150 is almost same as that of Discover 100cc. The head lamp, tail lamp and related body parts are similar to that of Discover 100cc. But inorder to reduce the price, many features that were present in Discover 135 has been eliminated from new Discover. The major feature added to Discover 150 is unique 240mm disc brake with cover to keep disc free from dirt as in dirt race bikes. Other new features are 100mm rear tyre to maintain control in greater speeds, 150 sticker at the back and special body graphics. All other features of new Discover 150 are same as that of Discover 100cc. Tachometer is not included in the Instrument Panel. Nitrox suspension as in Discover 100cc, LED tail light, alloy wheels, self start etc. are the other features of Discover 150.

Technical Description

Technically speaking, new Discover 150 is based on Bajaj XCD 135. Engine and frame have been adopted from XCD 135. The engine is a more powerful version of 135cc engine in XCD 135. In short, the Cylinder size of XCD 135 has been increased.

The Engine which uses DTS-i and ExhausTEC technologies provides Discover 150 a maximum power of 12.8Bhp @ 7500rpm and a maximum torque of 12.75Nm @ 5500rpm. This torque at comparatively lower rpm of 5500 reduces the frequent gear transmission in city rides.

The Discover 150 has a relatively higher mileage of about 65-70km/L compared to other 150cc bikes.

Ride & Handling

New Bajaj Discover 150 is light in weight compared to other 150cc bikes. The lower weight of 121kg makes it easy to handle as in the case of a 100cc bike.

For the sake of ease to use in cities, Discover 150 has been given short gear ratios. As a result, it has a pick up which challenges even Pulsar 150. The only defect is that top speed is reduced as a result. The top speed is between 100-105km. The shift pattern is all gears downwards.

The Bajaj Discover 150 is a bike that's meant for those who want to buy a 150cc bike at a low price. The new Bajaj Discover 150 is worth Rs.46,643/-

NEW NISSAN MICRA : DETAILED REVIEW AND TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

The release of Nissan Micra in India was much awaited by car maniacs allover the country. The reason behind this was infact Nissan's reliability and superiority. Perfection in manufacturing, easy-handling and less maintenance cost altogether makes Nissan Micra a top class City car. That itself is the reason why Micra got booked by 1049 customers before its release in India. In India, Nissan has marketed the fourth generation Micra.

The competetors of Nissan Micra in the B+ hatch-back segment are not so weak; they are: Ford Figo, Hyundai i10, Maruti-Suzuki Swift. Whether Micra can withstand the competition from these cars depends upon how Micra performs in the Indian roads.

Today, I'm posting a detailed review of Nissan Micra. Now, let's begin with the design.

Design

The new Nissan Micra is manufactured on the new V-platform which maintains the similarity with the previous generation. The new Nissan Micra is cute and smart with oval shaped headlamps and small clear lens tail lamps. The new Micra has a 'wheels-at-each-corner' stance, which increases its wheelbase to 2450mm and ensures better stability at higher speeds. Compared to the 3rd generation Micra, the wheelbase has been increased by 20mm and the overall length has been increased by 50mm. Thus, the Nissan Micra is 20mm longer than Maruti Swift and has same length as that of Ford Figo which is 3780mm long.

In Nissan's language, dashboard of Micra has 'twin-bubble' design. This refers to the circular instrumentation binnacle and the similarly shaped glovebox compartment on the passenger side. This gives a unique and fresh look to the dashboard. The interior theme of top end model is biege and that of other models is grey. The driver information display in the instrument pannel contains details such as average mileage, distance that can be travelled by the quantity of petrol currently available in the tank etc. The base model of Nissan Micra has Air-conditioning and Power steering.

Nissan cares a lot about the safety of the passengers in the car. Even the base model has airbag. But only the top model features Automatic Climate Control system, Power steering, Power windows, Remote central locking, Steering mounted controls, MP3 music system, Dual SRS Airbags, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) and EBD (Electronic Brake Distribution).

The new Nissan Micra has a lot of leg space, ie, about 226Liters. So even a taller person can travel comfortably in it.

Engine and Drive

The latest Nissan Micra is powered by new 1198cc, 3 Cylinder petrol engine manufactured by Nissan. It can provide Micra a maximum power of 75Bhp @ 6000rpm and a maximum topque of 104Nm @ 4000rpm. The new Nissan with a comparatively lower weight of 975kg and an engine which is powerful than even VOlkswagen Polo has a performance which can satisfy any customer. The 3 Cylinder engine of Micra is very smooth with lesser noise. The car can be driven at a speed of 20km in the 3rd gear with out knocking.

The compact body and a lower turning radius of 4.65m makes Micra a perfect city car.

The new Micra has a mileage of 18.06km/L which is higher than Maruti Swift which tops among the B+ segment cars.

Variants

  • Nissan Micra is available in 4 variants:
  • Nissan Mira XE
