Luxary automaker BMW is all set to launch the new BMW 5 Series Touring by 2011.The new BMW 5 Series Touring is slightly smaller than the BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo.

The new BMW 5 Series Touring comes available in all wheel drive option and is powered with choice of either a 6- or 8-cylinder engine.The car comes with traditionally-styled 5-door and features standard pneumatic self-leveling suspension.Option included with the new 2011 BMW 5 Series Touring consists of Dynamic Driving Control, Adaptive Drive and Active Steering.

2010 ABT Audi R8 GT R

ABT have completed a customization for the limited version of Audi R8 GT R. In this program, ABT have presented the ABT engine technology, ABT drivetrain, and ABT aerodynamics as well as the ABT sports wheels and tyre equipment, ABT interior, and ABT accessory. Tuned by ABT Sportsline, the R8 GT R is claimed to have no a single gram of fat on its body. ABT engine technology, with the 5.2 FSI in the ABT R8 GT R, provides a massive 620HP (456 kW) for the series-standard is 525HP (386 kW). As a result, the R8 GT R’s top speed is 325 km/h, 0-100 km/h is reached in just 3.2 seconds and 200km/h is marked in a mere 9.9 seconds.

In order to ensure the driving safety and comfort, ABT fitted the R8 GT R with modified double-wishbone suspension for the front- and rear axis, ABT height-adjustable sports suspension, ABT adjustable damper, ABT ceramic brake system with modified brake covering, ABT steel sports exhaust system, and ABT titanium special painting.



ABT aerodynamics, set to ensure a light-weight construction, consists of the ABT weight-optimized front skirt, rear skirt, side skirt, hatchback, door lining, engine bonnet, and exterior mirrors. There are also the ABT weight-optimized and adjustable rear wing, ABT tearing edge at the rear, and ABT adjustable front panel. Trimmed almost entirely with carbon, the ABT R8 GT R is 100 kilos lighter than its series counterpart. To support the sporty body, ABT offered the 9 x 19 inches ABT CR Superlight 8,2 kg wheels for the front axis and 11 x 19 inches ABT CR Superlight 10,2 kg wheels for the rear, they are completed with the Michelin Sportcup 235/35 ZR 19 or 305/30 ZR 19.

For the interior, there are the ABT rollbar, ABT sports steering wheel, Recaro racing seats, 4-point-belt system for action on the race track, B-pillar covering consisting of Alcantare, and alloy hand fire extinguisher. While for the accessory, there are the ABT engine cover, ABT equipment, Professional Onboard video system, and expandable data. Finally, the ABT individualization has brought the limited version of Audi R8 GT R (with only 25 units available) into a more limited version.

MERCEDES BENZ GL 350 CDi LAUNCHED IN INDIA

Mercedes Benz introduced new Mercedes Benz GL class which comes under the SUV category in India last week. There are two models namely GL 350 CDi Executive and Laxury.

The Benz GL 350 CDi is powered by a 3.0L, 2987cc, V6 Diesel Engine which delivers a maximum power of 224 BHP @ 510 rpm. The maximum torque is 510 Nm @ 1600 rpm.
The new Mercedes Benz GL CDi class which is having a top speed of 210 kmph can attain a speed of 100 kmph under 9.5 seconds. The company claims that the new SUV has a mileage of 9 km/l in cities and 12km/l in highways. The Benz GL 350 CDi has a 7-speed automatic transmission.
The fuel used in Mercedes Benz GL 350 CDi is diesel and the tank capacity of GL 350 Cdi is 100 Litres.

HONDA CB TWISTER DETAILED SPECIFICATION

The heart of Honda CB Twister is the most modern 109cc, 4-stroke, air-cooled engine. This engine delivers a maximum power of 9 bhp @ 8000 rpm to CB Twister. The maximum torque is 9 Nm @ 6000 rpm.
New Honda CB Twister has 4-speed constant mesh gear box. The gear shift pattern is - 1st gear downwards and others upwards.

2010 Lotus Evora 414E Hybrid Concept

Lotus had unveiled the Lotus Evora 414E Hybrid concept at the 80th International Geneva Motor Show. This concept showcases new developments in plug-in, range-extended electric propulsion, new electronic technologies to enhance driver involvement, the adaptability of the Lotus Versatile Vehicle Architecture (VVA) that underpins the Evora 414E Hybrid and a new roof system and interior concept from Lotus Design.

For the Lotus Evora 414E Hybrid, Lotus Engineering has developed a highly efficient, high performance drivetrain system consisting of twin motors each limited to providing 152 kW (207 PS/204 hp) of power and 400 Nm (295 lbft) of torque to each wheel via independent, single speed, reduction transmissions integrated into a single housing, enabling torque vectoring dynamic control of the vehicle.



The range extended electric drive of the Evora 414E Hybrid consists of two electric motors driving each of the rear wheels independently via single speed geartrain. Additional range is provided by the Lotus Range Extender engine, an optimized 1.2 liter, three-cylinder engine, providing 35 kW (48 PS/47 hp) of power at 3,500 rpm via the integrated electrical generator.

The vehicle energy storage system is made up of the latest Lithium Polymer battery chemistry with over 100 kW discharge capability. The battery pack provides 17 kWH energy storage capacity. All the operation and management of the range extender engine, the power management of the batteries and motor control are controlled by Lotus’ electronic control units and software systems.

To enhance driver involvement, it is the incorporation of HALOsonic Internal and External Electronic Sound Synthesis technologies from Lotus and Harman International. This provides the Evora 414E Hybrid with sound contouring within the cabin and improves pedestrian safety outside the vehicle.
