2011 Bentley Continental Supersports Convertible
Bentley has introduced the 2011 Bentley Continental Supersports Convertible, a new series of continental models developed from the GTC Speed. The evolution of this Supersports Convertible’s design is a re-interpretation of the Bentley Continental technology with key engineering design changes that include revised front air intakes with new bonnet vents, flared rear wings, and etc.
Supersports Convertible features large vertical intake apertures with twin bonnet vents to ensure positive air extraction. It is intended to provide additional airflow to the twin turbocharger intercoolers and cooling system of the increased power and torque of the W12 engine. To add a touch of style, the radiator, lower grille and dual bonnet vents are finished in a Smoked Steel.
Combining the style of the Continental GTC, all-new flared rear wings that accommodate the 50mm (2 inches) wider rear track are designed to emphasize the Supersports Convertible performance. It is accordingly supported with a gloss black finish to the headlamp casings and rear lamp clusters, 20-inch forged alloy wheels with Smoked Steel-finish, and large diameter tailpipe trims. In addition, the Supersports Convertible presents an electrically operated hood with a choice of eight hood color, lightweight carbon fibre throughout the cabin, and Alcantara™ soft-grip leather.
The 2011 Bentley Continental Supersports Convertible is also supported by the FlexFuel technology that enable the W12 6-litre power to run on petrol, E85 bioethanol or any mix of these two fuels – all from a single tank. FlexFuel technology was pioneered on the Continental Supersports CoupĂ© in 2009 and is now introduced on all 2011 Continental models.
